Background Information
The City of Golden is partnering with a masters degree student at the University of Colorado in the Denver Urban Planning program to conduct a study of potential transit routes between Downtown Golden and the RTD Ward Road G Line station, and destinations in between. This will inform systemwide transit planning efforts in Golden which are ramping up this year with a shuttle pilot program in partnership with Colorado School of Mines and West Line Corridor Collaborative. We are looking for some travel information from people who live and/or work, and/or attend school in Golden to help us make informed decisions.
While this is a student-led project, city staff is providing data and expertise to help guide the final report including previously completed downtown commuter studies.
How Can I Get Involved?
There are several ways to share your thoughts, concerns and questions with the City with more in development:
Contact Staff: City staff can be reached at mwempe@cityofgolden.net, via phone at 303.215.8884 or in person at the City of Golden Public Works and Planning Building, 1445 10th St.
Please contact Matt Wempe (mwempe@cityofgolden.net; 303-215-8884) if you, a person you are assisting, or an organization needs additional help to engage with our planning process due to limited access to technology, a disability or a language access need.

The purpose of this survey is to learn about who is moving throughout Golden, how they are moving, and where they are going. The survey will also tell us about peoples’ attitudes towards public transit. Here, public transit generally refers to commuter rail, light rail, and bus service. This insight will help inform the City's study of a potential new bus service as a local transit option.
The survey will complement data collected as part of the City's G Line Shuttle pilot that will operate in Summer 2023.
