Welcome to the Golden Parks & Recreation Master Plan and Open Space Master Plan project page. Exciting Updates Coming in January!
The community survey closed on November 22 after reaching a statistically significant number of responses for analysis. At the same time, we closed our online engagement tools for analysis. Check back in January for the release of our system map and the results from the survey. In the early spring, we will offer additional engagement opportunities as we begin transitioning community needs, current conditions, and key findings into draft plans.
Parks and Recreation Master Plan Updates: We are in the final stages of completing the Level of Service analysis and the Recreation Assessment. These assessments are essential for understanding current service delivery and identifying areas for improvement to better serve the community's recreational needs.
Open Space Master Plan Phase 2 Updates: The Open Space Working Group is set to hold its second of five scheduled meetings in December. The group's purpose is to provide input on the development and implementation of the Open Space Master Plan Phase Two, verify consensus on the mission, vision, and relevant definitions from Phase 1, and offer insights on preserving and enhancing natural areas. Additionally, the group will assist in classifying open space parcels, which includes criteria, current conditions, standards of preservation, uses, maintenance, and future acquisition.
Stakeholder groups that participated in Phase 1 are currently being interviewed to gather further input and ensure their perspectives continue to inform the plan's development.
Stay tuned for more detailed updates and engagement opportunities as these plans move forward.
