Welcome to the Golden Parks & Recreation Master Plan and Open Space Master Plan project page.

The City of Golden Parks & Recreation Master Plan and Open Space Master Plan Phase Two will guide the future management and development of parks, recreation facilities, and open spaces in Golden. These plans focus on addressing community needs, protecting natural areas, and ensuring access to recreational opportunities. Through analysis, stakeholder input, and community feedback, the plans will provide a clear framework for maintaining and improving Golden’s parks, programs and open spaces for years to come.

The community survey closed on Nov. 22 after reaching a statistically significant number of responses for analysis. At the same time, we closed our online engagement tools for analysis. Check back in January for the results from the survey. In the early spring, we will offer additional engagement opportunities as we begin transitioning community needs, current conditions, and key findings into draft plans.

Thank you for your continued interest and participation in shaping the future of our parks, recreation, and open spaces.

We are excited to share the findings from our recent statistical survey. These results will guide the development of both the Parks and Recreation Master Plan and the Open Space Master Plan, Phase Two.

A presentation of the report was shared with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board on January 16.

The survey is one of several important elements shaping the direction of these plans. The direction will also incorporate feedback from engagement efforts, analysis, and institutional knowledge.
